Hi,
Well the event was a great success. Everyone was extremely happy with it and all the feedback has been excellent!
Thank you Jeff and the Buzz Band. You're lovely guys to work with and the guests enjoyed the repertoire and dancing.
Buzz was a perfect choice for the night.

Hi Jeff,
We wanted to get in touch with you to let you know just how awesome a job you guys did on the night. Buzz was brilliant. It was extra special that you were able to play our requested songs. Our first dance was just gorgeous.
The feedback from the guests was overwhelmingly positive. For starters, the dancefloor was packed the whole evening. Also I lost track of the number of people who asked me during the course of the night "where did you find the band? They're awesome!!". Plus a number have commented since the event "how good was your band!?". Since most of our friends have a very keen interest and discerning tastes in music, this is high praise indeed.
We were also really impressed with you Jeff, and your approach to helping us organise the music for the day. Again, it was fantastic that you were open to accommodating our specific music requests where practicable.
We'd have absolutely no hesitation in recommending you guys to anyone looking for a band for a function. You have been highly professional, approachable and flexible. And most of all, from our experience, it's clear that Buzz band truly are able to pull off that elusive musical feat of "reading the crowd" to create a truly fabulous musical atmosphere.
Thanks again Jeff, and please pass on our thanks to the band members.
Regards,
Kate and Matt (Jonah, Whale Beach. Oct 2010)
Hi Jeff,
Just wanted to drop you a quick note to say thankyou very much for the amazing music you played at our wedding. All of our guests commented on how great they thought the music was. I was very impressed with the variety of music and was astonished to see everyone on the dance floor, including my uncle who I have never seen on a dance floor in my life!
A special thankyou also for learning "Chuck E's in love" for me. You guys did such a great job performing it and I will never forget that part of our wedding. The song will always bring a smile to my face :)
Thanks again

This testimonial is 7 pages long. But worth reading every word. Thanks Colin!!
Dear Jeff,
We have just returned from our honeymoon and wanted to contact a few people who helped make our day so special. You and the band members of Buzz are obvious standouts.
This is the second time I have booked Buzz for a function. It won't be the last. Unfortunately, being the organiser, I don't get the luxury of listening to the music as much as I would like to but on this occasion I did get to focus on a number of the songs. Or perhaps I should say that they were performed so beautifully that they forced their way through the myriad of things I had to do as the groom.
The first standout for us both was the entrance music. I've never heard a rendition of Going to the Chapel that matched it. It was performed with all the joy and energy and fun that we felt on the day. I almost skipped the meal and just started dancing right there. Mary and I had been to Ceroc dance lessons and I very nearly gave the game away just walking in because I could hardly control the urge to dance. The guests thought so too as they all got up and clapped in time to the music. Not just a polite clap but a spontaneous clap in time to the beat. We had been looking forward to that moment for a long time and you guys delivered it for us in spades. I've seen a couple of the guests' videos of the moment we walked in and the music just got everyone up and clapping. The guests all seem to be having as much fun as we were.
The next memorable moment for me was just after Mary and I had had some photographs taken on the verandah. I came in and you guys were performing "You've got a friend". The rendition was so perfect I just stopped and listened to it. I even grabbed one of the waiters to get him to listen to it. Jeff, it was wonderful. I would turn up to one of your public gigs just to listen to it.
There was a delightful moment when the band played Dancing Queen. Mel threw in the line "Tuesday night and the lights are low, Sergeant's Mess is the place to go!" Mary and I just both thought that was hilarious. I know it's a simple change but it had big effects on us. We've been singing that line in Port Douglas every day since. Please tell Mell that we really appreciated it. It just added to the fun. We tried catching her eye during the performance but, consummate professional that she is, she kept on delivering the tune.
The music during dinner was wonderful. It was enjoyable, but not intrusive. It made the evening go so beautifully. I would like to compliment the band on its dress code too. At one stage, during a band break, I went out through the double doors and was followed out by this beautiful girl in a lovely dress. I wracked my brains to work out who she was and which table she was sitting at, only to discover later that it was Mel. She was beautifully dressed. Similarly, I later saw a couple of guys that I didn't recognise and thought Sergeants' Mess must have had someone using the conference room downstairs. Sure enough, it later transpired that it was a couple of the boys.
As I've said, I've now seen a couple of the guests' videos of the function. One is of our performance of the bridal dance and Buzz is in the background, obviously set to go with the performance of "Love is in the Air" immediately afterward. The interesting thing the videos show is how engaged the band is with our dance. Mel can be clearly seen watching us and smiling, she claps and cheers when I dip Mary to the music, and shows real pleasure at the whole thing. This is the kind of thing that set you guys apart. There's real engagement with the function. Mel's not even aware that she's being recorded. She's just reacting spontaneously to what's happening. It's wonderful and most appreciated.
It was clear to us that Buzz didn't just show up, do the gig, get it over with and go home. The professionalism of the band was obvious but the personal commitment you made to making our night special, and the genuine spontaneous engagement set a standard that went beyond my expectations. I'll rave about you guys to anyone who'll listen and if there's anything I can do in terms of recommendations at the Sergeants' Mess, please let me know what that is. These people obviously have the power to make recommendations if people booking their venue don't have a band in mind and I would love to repay Buzz's efforts by assisting you with getting gigs there if I could.
The first part of this email has focussed on Buzz's performance generally but it would be remiss of me if I didn't say how grateful and supported I felt about my little project. I remember when I first mentioned it to you that you were most supportive and said that you thought it would pump a lot of energy into the room. You were right. The only person in that room who knew I could sing (with the possible exception of you) was Mary and the last thing she expected was me to step behind a microphone with a bunch of professional musicians and start singing. She's still blown away by it and she's not the only one. The Italian relatives have still not stopped talking about it. There are lots of jokes about when I'm going on tour etc and when I returned to the table after the song the room just seemed so electric that I thought it was going to explode. A lot of people thought I was miming until we did the encore. If you hadn't supported me, none of it would have happened. I would have taken your guidance as a professional musician. I also appreciated the chance to rehearse with you beforehand. That lifted my confidence enormously and was another example of how you guys clearly don't just think of an event like this as just another gig. Finally of course, our little pep talk on the night did wonders. I found the advice about going with any emotion that came out and keeping on going enormously supportive and helpful.
In the end, of course, I found the step from the front to the back of the microphone was much bigger than it appears. Like Alice through the looking glass, it's a short step into a whole different world and any fears I had about emotions were swept away by my first experience of just how hard it is to do what you guys do. It's not like singing to the iPod in the car! I just felt surrounded by the music and I was so focussed on when I needed to start, whether I had sung the previous line properly, trying to do it better the next line, not doing so many I knows that I got out of breath etc, that the engrossment in the work of it meant that I didn't have the luxury of breaking down and crying. It was a fantastic experience and one which I'll cherish.
The guests' videos have also shown me just how much you and the boys were enjoying yourselves. The video footage, and the stills of us, show you, in particular, really enjoying the moment. You look like a guy who's been in the know and have successfully pulled off the biggest surprise of the night. I'm so caught up in the maelstrom of the moment that I can't remember what the rest of the guests were doing. I don't think I was aware of it at the time. You probably remember better than I do but I'm told they were clapping and cheering. Every member of the band is smiling (in fact I'm the only one who isn't!) and I think it's another example of how much you guys put into what you do. I can't wait to see the professional video.
I have one apology to all of you and that is that I forgot, in the swirl of events that followed, to acknowledge and thank you all before I walked off. I am so very sorry about that omission. After all you had done for me, I should have said everything that I've just said in the paragraphs above so that the guests would also thank you. As I say, the only excuse that I have is that I was just so swept up in what followed that I forgot to give you the thanks to which you were all due.
Please pass this email on to the band. We are both so happy with how you performed at our function and with the level of enthusiasm and pleasure you all demonstrated. It's not something that you can fake. Our wedding day was truly the best day of our lives and Buzz contributed so much to it.
I will take up your offer to sing with the band again but I might just take those singing lessons first. There's a course at the Conservatorium of Music starting in May. If you know of any others, I'm open to suggestions. Just to show you the singing threat isn't an empty one, Mary turns 50 on 29 October this year. I don't quite know what we're going to do yet but would love Buzz to be a part of it (perhaps with the horn this time). A repeat booking is the best way I can think of of showing our genuine appreciation to you all. Is the band available on that evening? It's a Friday night. Please let me know as I'm quite serious. It's not a surprise party, Mary knows what we're planning and she had no hesitation in saying "Get Buzz again". The venue is yet to be decided.
Our thanks again and best regards to all of you
Colin and Mary (March 2010, Sergeants Mess)
Dear Jeff,
I would like to thank you for performing at the 2010 NSW Training Awards Dinner on Thursday 16 September at the Parkside Ballroom, Sydney Convention Centre, Darling Harbour.
The performance was exceptional and showed the class and sophistication that we aspire to have on show throughout the awards ceremony. Please pass on our thanks to the performers of Buzz Band, who should be very proud of their effort on the night.
The feedback from the guests about our event has been extremely positive. We thank you for your efforts.
Yours sincerely,

Dear Jeff,
Have gotten really great feedback re the Christmas Party. Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves and so far I haven't heard one complaint. Im so glad you suggested Rock n Roll as a theme. It seems to be a genre' that everyone loves.
Thank you very much for all that you did putting this entire event together. The CEO was extremely happy and when he is happy, we are all happy.
